Two thirds of the UK population has little or no dental disease, enjoying good dental health. The most prevalent disease is gum disease or periodontal disease. This disease can be largely prevented or treated by maintaining good oral hygiene.

We have been taught from childhood the importance of brushing your teeth after every meal or at least twice a day in order to prevent the build up of plaque and calculus, and staining of the teeth (due to tea, coffee, smoking, red wine), which harbours bacteria, and which can cause gum or periodontal disease, leading to unpleasant symptoms such as bleeding gums, bad breath, receding gums, sensitive teeth, and in very severe cases, mobility of teeth.

Do not be put off by the bad news. The good news is that gum disease and periodontal disease can be easily and painlessly prevented or treated by regular visits to the appropriate dental care professional.

Smileright™ health organisations

Our experienced team of dentists, dental hygienists and dental therapists in our prevention based dental clinics are absolutely focused on the prevention of dental disease. We recognise that in recent national surveys two thirds of adults and children are now free of visible tooth decay and that patients deserve a dental service that helps them maintain good oral health and is focused on improving the oral health of the remaining third and not one that is focused on treatment only.

Smileright’s dental care model using the skill mix of the entire dental team effectively has been specifically designed to prevent dental disease, improve and maintain good oral health and to achieve total patient satisfaction in modern purpose designed dental centres which meet all regulatory standards and provide quality preventative dental care in a safe environment which fully complies with the HTM-01-05 decontamination guidelines.

Smileright’s preventative based dental clinics will be centrally situated in convenient easily accessible locations.

We are certain that working closely with government health organisations/NHS Commissioning Board that we can make a significant contribution to improving and maintaining good dental health of the the nation through our preventative based dental clinics.
